Black splotches (missing pixels) on LCD Screen

When I take a picture all of a sudden iam getting black splotches in various places on the picture. has anybody seen this before?...

Somehow, I made it so that whenever I take a photo, the image appears on the screen, but with a menu over it that show the details such as exposure mode, aperture, focal length, shutter, etc. If I zoom in it goes away, but reappears with every new photo. VERY ANNOYING....

D80 battery discharge

a charged battery will discharge following shutter release. once the camera is switched to the off position and on again the battery indicates an acceptable charge, the photo is taken successfully and discharges again....
