New thermostat

My wine cooler recently stopped working, after looking in to the problem I found a burn mark on the thermostat. After a couple of weeks a replaced the thermostat but now the unit is not cooling. It sounds as if it is coming on, I here a click noise then a few minutes later the click noise again, but the unit never cools down....can anyone be of help to me on this matter, I have no clue what is wrong....do you??...
