Gateway Solo Laptop

I had a bad virus and had to fdisk my hard drive, now I can not reinstall windows 2000 pro back onto my gateway solo 5300 laptop. I have an after market cd rw drive, I also have the floppy disk drive that came with the laptop. I do not have any of the original software that came with the laptop. The computer will not boot to the CD using a windows 2000 pro disk, but it will boot to a windows 98 floppy disk. Once the computer boots to the floppy I can change to the c: drive and the d: drive but I con not get back to the CD Rom drive. Please help. Thanks, James Daniels...
